Journey to Kreisia has a new port for consoles and PC!

Journey to Kreisia and Fernz Gate are turn-based JRPGs developed by Exe-Create and published by Kemco, originally for mobile devices. Both games have been ported to modern consoles and PC. Both games are isekai-genre fantasies.

Journey to Kreisia has two Bad Endings, a Normal Ending, and two True Endings. Reaching either True Ending with all sidequests complete adds a bonus cutscene.

Fernz Gate is an indirect sequel to Journey to Kreisia; although there is a story connection, the world of Fernz Gate is not the world of Kreisia, and the Overlord of Fernz Gate is not the Overlord of Kreisia. The story connection includes the continuation of Journey to Kreisia's bonus ending cutscene. Therefore, the story of Fernz Gate implies that one of Journey to Kreisia's True Endings (with all sidequests complete) is official cannon.

I didn't play Fernz Gate until I was revising late drafts of Memories of an Overlord, so Fernz Gate had only a very slight influence on my novel.

Memories of an Overlord is both a reimagination of Journey to Kreisia's main story, and an original saga that continues from where the Normal Ending leaves off. Therefore, Memories of an Overlord is set in an "alternate Kemcoverse", and diverges from Kemco and Fernz Gate cannon.

Old versions of Journey to Kreisia are no longer available for purchase. The Nintendo 3DS version was delisted when the 3DS eshop closed on March 27, 2023. The Google Play version was delisted on November 15, 2023. The iOS version seems to have been delisted on March 17, 2024, according to Kemco's website.

So, it's great news that there's a new port of Journey to Kreisia for consoles and PC!

While the mobile versions of Fernz Gate have a cheaper base price, some of their optional dungeons are in-app purchases. The console versions are more expensive, but the base price includes all optional dungeons. Console versions also let the player grind in-game currency to buy items that are cash shop purchases on mobile.

Alvastia Chronicles is also available for purchase on many platforms, including mobile, PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 (and PS5), and Xbox One.

Overlord, Orzand from Journey to Kreisia is a recruitable character in the game Alvastia Chronicles. He can be won through premium gacha on mobile versions, or (after earning the Normal Ending) purchased with in-game currency from the Arena Shop on console versions.

Overlord, Orzand has no role in the story of Alvastia Chronicles. If he's recruited, then he appears in the first town and can be spoken to.
